Other Characters Played:
Chii | Chobits
Gilbert Nightray | Pandora Hearts
Character: Giselle
Series: Enchanted
Age: Unknown
History: http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Giselle & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enchanted_(film)#Plot
Canon Point: Just after she is pushed into the well, but before she gets de-animated and thrown into New York.
Personality:
Giselle is one of a kind nature, as she has spent all her time around animals. She has a great love for nature and doesn’t like it when someone tries to kill the animals that are called her friends. This would apply to the people she makes friends with as well, when she makes them. Even though she doesn’t look it, she does have a brave like tendency and would go and stand up for something if it was needed, especially if someone was being horrible about someone or something she cared about.
She doesn’t know what the word angry is, so even when she does express it, it's a rare emotion since she is one that is always so positive and optimistic in her own way. She also seems to be pretty helpful when the time calls for it, although usually it doesn’t look that way to begin with. She has also lived a very independent life since when we see her in the film she has lived alone and waiting for her prince to come and save her.
When it comes to certain things, Giselle's opnion might be very different to others, like when it comes to certain fairy tales the way she sees things is a lot different to what we know and hear in this world, so the stories she knows are completely different to our own. She also has shown at least once to not ask when she used curtains to make an outfit, this could be due to the fact she has always lived alone and therefore doesn't know when to ask for something if she wants to use it, she's used to just using it.
All-in-all she is a romantic at heart, and she is one to be able to show this side to her self though song and dance and on occasion when she managed to fix someone’s relationship when they were getting divorced. She thinks love is something that you fall in love just once and that’s it for life. Though with this personality trait it can make her not understand real life and thier hardships. When someone is going through a tough time like with the divorce, she doesn't understand what that meant and believes that one person you'll fall in love with will be the only one.
Through this fact you can say she's kind of naive, can be easily fooled into doing things and ending up in places she shouldn't be or even being a little too trusting of others as shown when she asked a random stranger, even paid her the money she had just been given to give her information. Thankfully that time it was an old lady and she did have what she wanted, but you never know. When she does come to our world, she gets very confused because it was something new and scary and something she doesn't understand. She didn't even understand why it was so different to our world. Although she was within a new world she did adapt, as shown in her clothes over the course of the movie as they show her tranformation from fairy tale princess into a normal mature woman.
Even though she hasn't had this same development from the canon point I'll be noting it here:
From the start of the movie, she has lived an independent life, with only her friends to keep her company. When she is thrown into the real world, this side of not being able to understand the real world is clearly shown in what she says and does seems to make people think she's just not right in the head. It was even an excuse that she was a confused woman since in her mind she had lived in this completely different place that no one seems to know about. Although as noted above she slowly does adapt to this change.
She had also shown to be rather blissfully unaware about real life since she lived in this fairy tale world. Being thrown into the real world shows this really well in which she confuses someone for a dwarlf for starters, which could actually be offenive to that person, but since her canon point is before this, she might accidentally do this from time to time, not really understanding that what she says and does might not be a good thing. This is another part of her Naive side of herself.
One side of her that wasn't shown that much was her brave side and the ability to be able to stand up to people or dragons in order to save the people she cares about, even if it does put her in danger in anyway.
Skills and Abilities:
She is able to call any type of animal to where she is at anytime just by singing or calling the way that she does.
She also can make really good clothes out of random things like someones curtains.
Also has a known knack for bursting into song and thus making the others around her do the same thing as shown here and here
First Person Sample:
Dear Edward,
It's been a few days since we met and fell in love at first sight, but on the day we were suppose to get married something happened that I just couldn't explain. The place I ended up in is quite cosy, there are animal friends I have made known here as moogles. They are rather cute and adorable, but I don't really understand what exactly they are. The people here when I arrived at what people called a festival are very nice to me and I am very thankful for all the help that they gave for me to find a way home, back to you my love.
But it seems that there is no way out, but I know that you dear, sweet Edward, my prince will be able to find me no matter where I am. After all we were meant to be together and live our happily ever after, after all.
I'll be waiting for you to come and rescue me.
Love Giselle.
Third Person Sample:
Tap. Tap. Tap went a pair of shoes that were walking along a corridor. Giselle had spent another day hard at work on her search for her true love, Edward. It had been a while since she had appeared in this new, unusual, but nice place and so far she hadn't seen any signs of Edward anywhere, not even a speck of information that she could use for help with the said search.
Giselle soon stopped, desiding to instead sit down and quietly think things over for a moment and to take a breather, before going on to another search in a completely new area. For now though, she wanted to take a look at the new area she had come across, where the wind blew gently through the trees, making them sway all so nicely. The birds were singing their songs and in a happy melody as they flew by her head.
This all made Giselle smile, she loved the peace this place had, it was much like back home; a place that she missed dearly, but she had come to enjoy life here as well, it was just a small reminder to her and that made her hopes grow more than ever before. A smile staying perfectly on her face as she stood up, arms streaching for that brief moment before lowering down again.
This time she noticed a small bird close by, so kneeling down she leaned in slightly to take a closer look.
"Hello there. Don't worry I promise I won't hurt you."
The bird in question stopped pecking at the floor before turning around and appeared to be understanding to what the woman said to it. Giselle on the other hand, held out her hand for it to jump into. "You're simply adorable aren't you?" She said laughing slightly as the bird started to peck at her hand, thinking there was food on it.
Giselle seemed to have forgotten that she was even searching for Edward in the meantime, for now she was just happy to have a small friend to talk to, even if it was just a small bird at least it was good company to keep for the meantime.
